Hi,

you don't need to defrag Ubuntu but in case you want to, start here:

There are several links and arguements for you to read through!.

For checking the disk:

That's because it is closed source! I understand 'chkdsk' could not be allowed in Germany because it was written for M$ by a scientologist!

Thats a lie.

Chkdsk is a utility for disk repair.

It is like saying

NTOSKRNL.sys is not allowed in germany because it is written by a scientologist, but you have to make windows work in some other way.

My bad - I was trying to remember an article I read somewhere - it was the defrag program 'Diskeeper', not 'chkdsk'.

That said we should all be wary of what OS we use:

Seems to me you don't have to restart after every update either! Which is nice.

Hi,

true to a greater or lesser extent but it does depend on what you are updating, if you update the kernel or graphic card drivers, you should update and also if a message appears telling you to do so, otherwise you should be safe.

Is this solved now?.
