Hi,

did you wait a while after doing what it was you were doing?, normally in the home folder, right click the drive on the left of the window and then on "Safely Remove" or "Eject" and the mount symbol should vanish and you can remove the drive.

The other alternative to is to shut down your PC and the drive will auto-unmount..

Regards Wolfman :D

Hi, I have found with most memory sticks (and SD Cards) that the icon appears on the desktop. I would go for right-click and 'eject' rather than safely remove - once the icon has disappeared off the desktop you should be safe to remove but if a memory stick, make sure any activity light present is not flashing to be safe. :D
