I loaded Zorin because in all the youtube videos of Zorin there were Windows like minumize/maximize/close buttons in the top right cormer of windows or folders. My installation did not contain these buttons and I can't find anywhere in the OS to activate them. Olease help.

I went to windows decorations and it was already checked, but no min/max/close buttons show up.

Can you check your 'Theme' settings too in 'TweakTool' - Menu | System Tools | Preferences | TweakTool. Also try unchecking and rechecking windows decoration in CompizConfig Settings Manager! :D

I tried unchecking / restarting re-checking / restarting, still no buttons. I appreciate your help and it looks like this is the OS that I'm looking for but I need those buttons. I live in a senior mobile home park and a lot of residents are running XP and they will need a no cost solution the end of life of XP. The residents are all on fixed incomes so Zorin looks like it will fit the bill for most of the people here. I teach computer use for seniors once a month at the clubhouse and it is becoming a popular course.

I am trying to install Zorin on my neighbors computer and now with this problem I want to fall back to my first idea which was to install Linux Mint Cinnamon 15, which has worked for me in the past. But I have another problem now. I set the bios to boot from the optical drive, but it doesn't see the drive and starts in Zorin so I can't put Mint on the computer to replace Zorin. My plan is to remove the hard drive, set it as a slave and reformat the drive then re-set it as master and replace it and I think then it will allow me to load Mint. What do you think?

Hi I honestly don't know maybe maybe not.. But before you delete zorin, did you try to change the theme, maybe another theme will bring back the close minmize icons.

This has happened before check out viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4154 Personally I would start all over ; new iso new slow burn and new installation. I have tried a few distro but came back to zorin . you can also run distro on a usb

The first thing I tried was a re-burn and re-install, no difference.

Thanks,
