Hi stoein,

you need to check the settings in: Menu > System Tools > Preferences >Compiz Settings Manager > Desktop > Desktop Cube

Hi stoein, Usually compiz is active by default. Keyboard commands are usually Ctrl+ Alt+ Left or Right cursor for cube rotation. Ctrl+ Alt+ Down arrow will 'unwrap' the cube into walls. :D

Hi guys Thank you.
I have run into another problem.
The zorin menu is opening downwards .
it is located at the bottom so I cannot see the menu.
It was working fine when I first installed Zorin .
Thank you

Hi Stoein, right-click the 'Z', try changing the menu to a different one, then reset the menu - it will announce a crash - just click on the sad face that appears where the Z was to get the menu back. Keep us posted.

Nothing has worked.
It is win 7 and win xp looks that have this behaviour.
Win 2000 and the rest work fine.
Thanks

Hi,

right click the dockbar and open "Dock Preferences" > Applets, then drag the left hand symbol (GnoMenu) out of the window,

Close the preferences window and then right click and open it again and add "GnoMenu" (Yet another menu applet AKA Zorin Menu )from the list of available applets and drag it to the same position as before and see if that fixes it.

You can also run this terminal command:

Code:
sudo dpkg --configure -a

Is this 32-bit or 64-bit? Did you also run the update commands after installation in a terminal (Ctrl+ Alt+ T)?

Code:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Hi,

I think it is called Zorin Menu in the AWN applets list of Zorin 8?.

Hi Sorry about the multi-posts.
I have done the procedure with properties in the Zorin menu.
I have also done the command in the terminal like you asked.
Restarted the machine.
I have found also that the menu when it set to top and expand the panel
is selected
Only half the menu is displayed.
I disabled the viewports.
I also removed my ati drivers.
Nothing has worked.

I ran this
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
It did install something.
Reboot it and nothing changed.

Hi,

try this following terminal command which will remove the panel and re-install it:

Code:
sudo apt-get remove avant-window-navigator && sudo apt-get install avant-window-navigator

Then restart your Pc and see if that helps.

If the panel won't work and you cannot shut down or log out, press Ctrl + Alt + Del then log out and use the shutdown buttons at the login window to restart.

Try this, anytime my UI messes up (and I do alot of tweeking so that is pretty often) what has ALWAYS fixed it for me is doing the following.

Click 'Zorin Menu' then type out 'Zorin Look Changer' and press enter (it doesn't matter if you can see it or not) It should open up the look changer, then you click on "Windows 7" and give it a second to freak out and then fix everything.
