I'm not against customizing things BUT something is very odd about this.

Today I was changing wallpapers. I noticed a theme option at the bottom. Changing this is a big mistake because once you change it you can't simply bring things back to the way things were.

The more I looked around for answers the more junk I got into. As you can see I have 4 applets on the bottom left hand corner. I can't get rid of them. The box that says Zorin in it looks like something from ubuntu. In fact most of the windows now look like ubuntu. Also the computer Icon on the top Right hand of the screen looks like ubuntu. I don't have a clue why I can't get this stuff back to the original. Do you know how to do it?

Hi,

see the post install guide and this section: More info about the AWN panel (Avant Window Manger)

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2054

It should have enough info to put things right for you.

That's too much information. I had to print 16 pages just to read it . I can't fix this, I got to reinstall the whole Operating system. :(

Hi,

this is the shortest way I know which means removing and re-installing AWN.

Open a terminal with Ctrl + Alt + t and paste the following command:

Code:
sudo apt-get purge avant-window-manager && sudo apt-get install avant-window-manager

This should remove and reinstall AWN to a bog standard new one.

You should restart with Ctrl + Alt + Del + Restart and see if it fixes the problem!.

I have added the above to the post install guide.

Thank you for telling me how to reinstall AWN. I already reinstalled the whole OS. Now I'm writing back because I wish to share with you two videos about AWN I found on youtube.

This one helped me understand AWN better
