Fri Feb 28, 2014 1:27:25 pm

did exactly this process.
it installs everything right.
after that I run the uwb 3dsp
and then run the 3dsp wifi radar.

uwb 3dsp appear on the execution of processes.
the 3dsp wifi radar when you click it it asks me password I provide and does not perform.

how could solve this problem. because I had to put a router as a repeater in my room to run the cable internet not to stay without internet. (kkkk)

Thank you.

So I will try the previous kernel.

Unfortunately I can not move on to other kernel does not support the driver 3dsp where the company has more or website.

sad.

Thanks for trying to help.

As I have said, this card is very old and used to work with kernel 2.6
Dudus has kernel 3.11 (Zorin8) and there are not supporting drivers for this.

A fellow member in the greek ubuntu forum had the same forum and we also tried to get it working via ndiswrapper without any success (we have spent 17 forum pages...).

In case you would like to try as well (and you have the CD with the accompaning XP drivers) you can have a look at my guide here:

hi .
unfortunately this does not work.
I'm testing all forms to see if I can get some results .

The problem with this wireless card is that besides being pessima and unsupported in windows it loads the drive then loads the wireles for different applications .

about not having support for newer kernel is a fault of the developers of distributions .

a big plus for me was just the linux kernel always coupled to the drivers of disposivos already tested .

This discourages a lot.

'm Pindurado this pc to days trying to solve just this problem .

in mint 16 install the drive he made the correct Chada . but for some reason did not carry .

zorin in it loads in the uwb system processes but do not apply the taskbar where the clock is .
hindering the process of trying to load the driver .

wifi rada the 3dsp not open .
but the wifi rada system opens without detecting the driver.

My hope was to throw it somehow since it lists in the lsusb wireles drive with another drive without the original.

I would not give up and try all possible alternatives to get to work and post a status for those who have this xxxx wireless card .

Hi dudus, I think your last comment is nearer the mark! It is hardware manufacturers that are the issue here, not GNU/Linux. Don't forget a lot of awesome work has been done by the devs of both ndiswrapper and madwifi - projects in their own right - but if the hardware and software are solely designed for Windows users, who is really to blame? ;)

dudus

Sat Mar 08, 2014 1:53:19 am

Hi
hehe ...
I agree with you in part.
Really manufacturers are the biggest culprits. With this crude attempt ever previlegiar windows.
And with this attempt to mislead the consumer by making postings hardware married with software sales.
It really is a win GNU / Linux on the porch of this today.
But I disagree when you see a driver that works on an older version and does not work in a newer version. To me this thing windows.

I'm not advanced in linux'm just a beginner.
But firmly believe that we can just go to have a solution in place.
Thank you.

If they have any more idea please do not hesitate to try to help.

It is very difficult for me to work remotely. I need to use the laptop 100%, restarting it, maybe even format it, installing new kernels etc. Even so, I am not sure 100% that I can get it to work as I have never used a 3dsp card before. I will try to find a cheap used one on ebay.

One last question.
Have your tried installing Zorin 6.0 (not 6.2, or 6.3 or 6.4) and then following the guide in the link I provided? http://eritonb.blogspot.gr/2012/05/3dsp ... ernel.html
The guide in the weblink says specifically that they got the 3dsp working on ubuntu 12.04 (and they mean with kernel 3.2 which is the LTS kernel).
Would you like to try that as well?

You are soooooo close. Have you set ipv4 and ipv6 settings to automatic?

Can you also try to connect using network manager? (and not widi radar)

Swarfendor437

Wed Mar 12, 2014 11:29:13 pm

Another issue could be your MTU settings - here in the UK we are limited to 1432 - automatic = 1500! :D

If you use OpenDNS on your router, change DHCP (Automatic) to DHCP (addresses only) and add the DNS Servers in the DNS field as:

208.67.222.222,208.67.220.220

Remember to checkmark 'Connect Automatically' and 'All users' and 'Save'!

The weird thing is that the fmodule is loaded. You can see that in lsmod.

What happens if you issue the command:
Code:
sudo modprobe 3dspusbwlan

If you don't get any result check if you get the wireless networks.
If you get an error message, post it here.
