Does Zorin Live OS use the hard drive

Some linux operating systems run from the bootable device and RAM (such as PUPPY). Therefore; they do not need a hard drive.
Does Zorin live need the hard drive?

If by does it need a hard drive, are you running notebooks with no hard drive in? Clearly Zorin uses RAM but may need part of the hard drive for temporary 'swap' purposes, that's all (AFAIK).
