[MOVED] Border issues

Hi! i just installed Zorin OS 8 and im having this issue where out of context windows sometimes stay black and when this happens i also usually get black borders around the small windows from the bottom panel like the date, wifi, bluetooth when i click on them....
I have an Nvidia gtx 300 i think, and im using their more recent drivers.
Any ideas how to solve this?

Hi follow Wolfman's advice in this thread. If still having problems, go to 'Update Manager' and look for 'Additional Driver' This should list all the available nVidia Drivers available for your graphics card with the current one checked - if it is the one at the top, try an earlier driver version! :D

Im using the nvidia 3.19 driver. I used the focus effect fix and that seems to have solved the back black window issue but i still have the borders in the bottom right panel when i put the cursor on them and the box is rendered(bluetooth, wifi, etc...).

Can you run 'screenshot' from accessories? This has a timer you can change for as long as you like before it takes a screenshot.

Hi, I am thinking that this is down to the 'Dark Theme' - is it the one that came with Zorin or is it one you have installed?

Hi! i think this also happens with the light theme, but yes its the dark theme that came with Zorin...I will confirm with the light theme later today.
Thanks.

Seems to happen too. Happened after it went into suspend mode. Went back in filled the password and when i checked the bottom panels it happened again.

When you go into Update Manager | Additional Drivers tab at the end, what nVidia driver versions are available? I would go for a lower one (304?) and see what happens then. :D

Try my solution to a different issue but could be related?

THanks i will try your solution later today. One thing i've noticed is that sometimes this issue goes away and then for some reason comes back but i don't know what i'm doing that causes it.

OK, I think it is the nvidia drivers - after I upgraded my install following Wolfman's guide (not is fault!) I lost my Zorin and graphics became totally screwed. If I'm honest, you are better opting for the GNU/Linux driver! :D
