No startup sound

Brand new to Ibuntu & Zorin. Looking for a replacement for XP & have been experimenting with Zorin 8 Ultimate. Have installed it on a desktop & a laptop. Startup sound plays on the laptop, but not the desktop. I have gone to the startup applications window & the startup sound is there and enabled. Right now the command in the startup applications window is /usr/share/sounds/zorin/stereo/desktop-login.ogg I have tried pointing to /usr/bin with no luck. Any help appreciated.
