Hi all,

I am a total NOOB to Zorin. I have decided to turn an old PC running XP into something better and bring it back to life. I have chosen the Zorin OS Lite and so for im very very impressed.

Although i have come across a few problems, please can you advise?

First, I have installed a few new programs and i cant the find icons anywhere in the start menu. I have looked everywhere in the system for the file and cant see it. The GDebi package installer says it is installed properly but i cant see an icon anywhere. Im sure theres a simple solution but i cant see the wood for the trees right now.

Second, How do i install a new USB wireless dongle? The system will not auto detect that dongle is in the usb slot. I have done the lsusb cmd through terminal and it detects that it is fitted. The dongle is the TP Link Tl-WDN-3200. I do know that there are a few issues installing this usb dongle.

The "additional drivers" and the "windows wireless driver" do not detect it either.

Remember im a newie to alll this but

lsusb shows this

OK first off Zorin 6 and 7 Lite have reached the end of their support life cycle - this is not a Zorin 'issue' but Lubuntu on which it is based. Have you tried Zorin 6.0? This has Long Term Support 'til 2017.

Not sure about wireless in Lite but you would be better swapping to Zorin Core if it will run - if not then LXLE - a different distro but whilst based on Lubuntu it is supported until April 2017, just like core ubuntu.
