Printing Error

I setup a computer with Zorin OS8 and everything works well except printing using my Brother MFC-7340. When I plugged in the printer USB cable it was recognized by Zorin and it shows up in the print dialog box and when I tell it to print the screen indicates that the print job was sent to the printer but that soon turns to an "unknown printing error" followed by "print complete", but nothing printed.

Hi Len,

open Synaptic and type "brother" in search, there is a shortlist of packages fro Brother printers, install them all and see what happens!.

Also I find this works better at start of installation. Open a terminal and enter:

system-config-printer


It will start the 'Printers' utility and choose your printer etc. :D
