Greetings, all.

Is there an easy way to make the vertical scroll-bar a little wider? The thing is so small I can't grab it.. :(

Take care,
Simon

I have not tried it but you could always look at this: http://www.petermoulding.com/how_to_fix_the_scroll_bars_in_ubuntu_11.4_gnome

Lets us know if you try it and if it works.

Here you go friend:

;)

First, install 'gnome-color-chooser':

Code:
sudo apt-get install gnome-color-chooser

Then look for it under:

Menu | System Tools | Preferences

Enjoy! ;)

Damn, you guys are good! :)

@Wolfman: it's doesn't seem to be an overlay problem, scroll-bars in Black are regular, just very small, some 5 pixels or so. Besides, I tried to install dconf Editor, but it can't find its database, so I get an empty screen. Still on my todo list.

@Swarfendor: GNOME Color Chooser works for my Browsers, in Wine and Compiz, and probably a few others, but *not* in File Manager (Files) and GEdit. Main problem was Firefox, for the rest I use keyboard anyway.

As far as I'm concerned: problem solved!

Hi Simon,

Dconf Editor is in the package "dconf-tools":

Code:
sudo apt-get install dconf-tools

Have marked as solved!. :D

OK, Well it won't work in Nautilus but there is a way around that - install 'Thunar' file manager to get the scroll bar, and you WILL get one in GEdit after installing this theme:

http://www.j-baer.com/ax-ubuntu-theme

His instructions are faulty though - at the point where it reads: 'sudo bash AX-Install.sh SHOULD read

Code:
sudo bash ./ax.sh

Log out and log back in again after following the 'accept' bit and you get this:

Screenshot GEdit with scroll bars.png

Screenshot Thunar with scroll bars.png

Only downside is I could not get a colour change for GEdit for the scroll bar using 'gnome-colour-chooser' :D

Hi SimonVM, I know Wolfman closed this but did you try that theme? :D

Not yet - it's on my todo list, which is about 60 entries, I fear -smile-
added entry 61: report back to Swarfendor
(might take a few days)
