Hello,

I'm new to Zorin OS 6 (LTS) but I use Ubuntu and it will let me turn down the display by my display button. Every time I tap the display button (to turn down) it will show a little box on the top right corner and the bar will go down but the display is still on high. I try to click on the battery icon on the toolbar and go to power settings and turn the display all the way down but nothing change. Please help this is a laptop and when I unplug this laptop I want the display and when I plug in the laptop I want the display to turn up. Thank You!

Hi,

System Settings > Personal > Btrightness & Lock and yoiu can adjust the slider there for a permanant setting, are you also using the FN + your brightness controls on the laptop?.

Could you also tell us make and model of your notebook (I try to avoid using the misnomer 'laptop' - not good practice - blocking air vents! )
