Windows and Linux is the major block to my understanding

I am a new-bee at Zorin OS (Linux). Most of the info that I have read about Zorin OS is that it is a convent step up form Windows XP. I do have a good understanding of Windows but I am finding that there is not that much comparison of Zorin OS and XP. It may be that the difference between Windows and Linux is the major block to my understanding. Below are some things that I have done and can do in Windows XP but they do not work in Zorin OS or Linux:
• Installing “Open Office suit” form Source Forge.
• installing Apache software.
• Installing a multimedia DVDs player that can play .m4v format media.
• Changing desktop resolution.
• Adding desktop backgrounds

Is there some References instruction manual that I can get so that I can get to know Zorin OS a little better?

Hi,

here is the free Ubuntu Manual:

https://ubuntu-manual.org/

You don't need Libreoffice from Sourceforge as it is in the repo's and easy to install.

Post install guide (tips) here:
