Zorin OS 8 Lite--changes do not stay after reboot

Good Day!

I'm a Linux/Ubuntu/Zorin newbie here. I've successfully installed Zorin 8 Lite on an older Dell laptop, figured out the Broadcom driver issue for the wireless card, successfully changed the screen resolution to something readable and, in short, LOVE the experience of using this os until I reboot. After a reboot ALL of the changes I've made have to be redone!

I have to reenter Sudo modprobe b43 to get the wireless card online, reset the screen resolution, manually get the power meter running. I'm not going to modify anything else until I figure this out.

How can these changes be made permanent?

Thanks,
Bigshark

Hi,

I assume you are logging in as "Guest"?, at the login window, click on the name "Guest" and then your normal user name should also show, once your user name shows up, click on that!, and enter your normal password, you can also use the arrow keys to make your normal user name appear!.
