Hi dbase,

you need to install the "Medibuntu" repo for extra software:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Medibuntu

You can make a google earth package of your own using the tools in medibuntu or download it from here:

Hi dbase, You're right Google Earth apps is not available on Ubuntu Software Center, because Google Earth was governed by copyright to Google, but you can download Google Earth dev on their website, just select Devian-Ubuntu compatible version that go with your system, then double click it after download and Ubuntu Software Center will automatically install it for you. Be patient since it will take Ubuntu Software Center much longer time pause before it eventually install the dev. Good luck...

See my new apps:

A small update to this thread/problem.

If some of you cannot start GE from the main menu, right click on the icon and select create desktop icon, then double click the new icon and mark as trusted, then you must double click it again and it should open!!.
