I did a clean install on an Hp dx2450 minitower.Amd Athlon processor.2.3,500 gig Hdd,2 gig memory.Every thing works fine but when closing out of system settings,it freezes up and I have to unplug the pc and plug it back in to clear the screen.Annoying to say the least.Any help will be greatly appreciated.Keep it simple,I'm a 75 year old user, not a computer geek.

Hi,

press the power button until the PC switches off, never unplug it as it will cause damage to the hard drive which will become unuseable beyond repair, if you have done this several times, your HDD is knackered!.

Start your PC in recovery mode and run DPKG per this guide:

A NETWORK CABLE CONNECTION IS REQUIRED!!.

sudo apt-get install nvidia-current

and then restart and do an update!.
