Does anyone know how to change or customize the start button in OS 9 and OS 6? :D

In 9 it is a non-starter as they have removed this functionality - in the last couple of releases you could only have the 'gnome' foot. The only way you are going to achieve this is to:

1. Install GnoMenu (follow instructions here: http://www.upubuntu.com/2012/03/how-to- ... unity.html)

2. Install Cairo-Dock (open a terminal and enter
Code:
sudo apt-get install cairo-dock

3. Reboot Zorin and on the little 'z' top right of login window, left-click it to see the Cairo-Dock DE option - once in there, you will need to configure Cairo-Dock and select - get more add-ons - get the GnoMenu addon by just dragging it down to the dock - you MUSR install GnoMenu before this will work!

4. There is a way of configuring the menu icon to point to a different item, but it is a while ago since I last did this:

http://vimeo.com/63084015 - the pear was the 'start' button from the distro videod at the time! ;)

For ZOS9

GoTo : computer > usr > share > avant-window-navigator > applets > zorin menu

Need to have root level access :
Open Terminal ctrl + alt + del
: sudo nautilus

Note : The new icon has to be renamed like the one being replaced [ logo.png ]
Example : Screenshot [ What to look for in zorin menu ]

Lastly log-out then log-in
