using zorin ultimate - when i press a key,a different letter

when i press a key,a different letter appears on a screen

in this case I want to type @ but i get " -tried 2 different model keyboards - both usb

but " gives me @

Try switching from US to UK or the other way round. The only difference between the UK keyboard and the US keyboard is the number 2 key. On UK keybaord the " is above the number 2 while on the US it is the @.

Just in case you don't know where to change the keyboard settings:
System Settings > Language and Region Settings > Layouts

looked further and fixed it fine - thanks it was just changing the keyboard to us
