Hi

I am trying to prepare my HD to install os9 ultimate using the methods in

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7981&sid=45286d073c90a4c71eb2d1330135c480#p38598

I followed all the steps and all went well until i got to the Partition Editor

Once i am in the Partition Editor i select the drive that has my free space which is 91325 MB and then i made a Primary Partition with size 30000 MB and format to ext4 and marked it as as '/' then i click ok.

Now i am left with 61325 MB but the Partition Editor says the 61325 is unusable and it will not allow me to continue with the rest of the steps to complete the installation.

And help with trying to get my 61325 space to where it is free space so i can continue with the rest of the steps of the installation would be very much appreciated.

Thank you in advance

How many primary partitions are there on the physical disk drive?

Well it seems that you already have 3 primary partitions so once you created another that was it, you hit the maximum of four.

Try creating an extended partition using all the free space and then create the partitions you need to install inside that extended partition.

Hi

I reformatted my hard drive to get rid of all the extra primary partitions that Toshiba had on it.

Did a clean install of windows 7 instead of using the recovery disc so i would not get the extra primary partitions back.

Installed Zorin os9 the way it was explained here http://www.zoringroup.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7981

Then did the Easy BCD 2.2 setup for my dual boot.

Im happy to say my computer now works like a champ now and that i am impressed with zorin os9 OMG it so so fast :D

Swarfendor437 i did view your video http://www.veoh.com/watch/v76000025mjZfXnw3 which was nice to see how you did it visually it really helped me a lot.

Thanks for taking the time to show us newbie how to do this.

Hi, Glad you are sorted! I have still to check whether Part B has been sorted by Veoh admins! :D
