I just installed Zorin 9 on a Dell Latitude D820. When I first boot the system, the screen comes up normally, but once the OS loads, it goes black.

Any suggestions on how I can fix this problem. I do not have any other OS installed, just Zorin OS 9.

Would like to get some more info on the issue.

What happens if you press [ctrl]+[Alt]+[F1]

What do you see when that happens ?
Do you get to the login screen, is it after login that the screen goes black ?

Hi,

I think that Zorin 9 might be a tad too heavy for that model, you should go for the Lite version of Zorin when it comes out or try Lubuntu on which it is based!.

Zorin Lite 9 is not yet available:

http://www.zorin-os.com/free.html

Lubuntu is here:

Zorin 9 Lite installed and works like a charm. Next step is to download and install LibreOffice.

Thanks again, for all the help and pointers.
