Thanks for replying. But that doesn't resolve my issue. The same bluetooth dongle was working perfectly in Zorin 6.4 (Ubuntu 12.04). I think this is an issue of Ubuntu 14.04.

HI, just had another browse around and 14.04 seems to have lots of BlueTooth issues - came across a 13.04 solution and that was to ensure 'blueman' is installed.

Open Synaptic package manager and enter 'bluetooth' in the little search box in the middle near to the top of the Synaptic window and install all packages that appear to be relevant by marking them for install then click on apply. Sorry I cannot be of more assistance! Keep us posted.

Thanks again. Sadly it is not working even after those installations. :(

You are affected by this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... ug/1314621

The problem is fixed in kernel 3.15

So you either upgrade to this kernel, or you wait till the fix is backported in kernel 3.13. (It will be backported for sure at some point as the bug fix has been comitted and kernel 3.13 is an LTS kernel).

Will upgrading kernel cause any other compatibility issue? When can we expect this issue to fixed in kernel 3.13?

I believe that you will not face any compatibility issues. We are talking about a newer kernel with many bug fixes. Its is also considered stable (as we have now moved on to kernel 3.16).
The only problem is that kernel 3.15 is not an LTS kernel (like 3.13) so it will not be supported with 2019 (like kernel 3.13), but only for a few months.

I don't know when the fix will be backported to kernel 3.13. This is up to the ubuntu devs.
