Java issues

Ok first of all I'm as new as it gets to linux.(and programming as it is)
I tried zorin 9 core for a couple of days worked fine as I played around and I got the 64 bit ultimate edition.
My main problem is with eclipse.. I downloaded eclipse with adt, unzipped it as the instructions.
I started creating my app for android, and everything was fine as long as I was writing xml. when I got to java eclipse kept shutting down and all I got was this message:

I have a lenovo g500 laptop with 8gb ram, zorin is on 120 intel ssd and I have an extra 1gb hdd.
Can anyone help me? I'd hate to go back to windows for this.
