[SOLVED] CD/DVD Drives Not Seen by ZORIN 9?

CLUNKER

Neither of my cd/dvd drives are useable nor are they seen by the ZORIN9 OS?

Yet they are working just fine when I boot into XP.

Any ideas on why?

Copy/Paste showing output of ( sudo lshw -c disk ) showing only my hard drives are seen by Zorin OS.

Is there another command I need to run specifacally for checking CD/DVD drives?

user@old-clunker:~$ sudo lshw -c disk

Hi, and welcome to Zorin! :D How did you install Zorin? USB or DVD? :D

Thanks for your reply.

Installed 32bit DVD burned at 4X that is working fine on another machine tested it on.

Both drives are still working fine when booted into Windows, but Zorin doesn't see Blank CD's / Data CD's / or DVD's

Hi, have you completed updates after install? A good place to start would be with Wolfman's Post-Installation guide here:

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2054

Dont' be put off by the fact it says 6 & 8 - most of it will apply to 9! ;)

Thanks for your attempt to help, but I simply reformatted both drives & reinstalled both operating systems the same exact way.
Now it works OK --- Zorin must have missed a few drivers, or whatever the first time around.
And to answer your question - I did install updates after install through terminal before asking for input.

Thanks Anyways
