(SOLVED) Hidden files stay visible

I used Ctrl+H to show the hidden files in home folder. Agter that i used Ctrl+H again to hide them. But now when i open the folder the hidden foiles are visible again, can use Ctrl+H to hide them but everytime i open the home folder they are visible again.

How do i keep them hidden?

Open the file manager (i.e. go to your home folder) and from the top bar menu navigate to:

Edit > Preferences > first tab > Untick the box that says "show hidden files".

Thanks..feel a bit embarrassed that i didnt think of looking there. They are all in hiding now :)
