I would like to optimise my system. almost hangs everytime musicbrainz picard tries to scan a file, copies from hdd to other hhds are slow (like 20 mb per sec)

Seeing as I'm a linux newbie I just did the default install and didn't know how to do any more. I have a 180 gb intel ssd and a 3tb hdd intel core i7-2600K

I am thinking I need to make it go faster but I cannot supply any more info unless you guide me

Hi, unless this has been resolved by kernel updates I understood that GNU/Linux was still limited at being able to only see 2TB? :(
