I installed Zorin OS on a friend's notebook. He has called me twice to complain that he can do nothing with it. After speaking to him I have discovered that on both occasions he was using the machine as GUEST and not logged in under his own user account, which has full privileges.
I decided that perhaps if the GUEST account was not available to select then my friend would be less likely to select it. To test this idea I decided to disable the GUEST account from my own Zorin 9 computer.
I edited the lightdm.conf file. It now reads as follows:
[SeatDefaults]
greeter-session=zorin-greeter
user-session=zorin_desktop
allow-guest=false
Unfortunately this has had no effect on my computer that I can see. Zorin still displays a choice for GUEST on the greeting screen.
