XBMC not working on Zorin 9

I have a dual boot Win XP/Zorin 9 Core 32 bit Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop.

I installed XBMC/Kodi from the software center. No errors. Next, I installed Add-on FTV from kinkin's repo. No errors. However, when I try to startup FTV, I get a Script Failed: FTV error message. Not all the time though. Once in every 10 tries, FTV starts up, allows me to choose UK TV LIVE and on a rare occasion even watch a channel.

I noticed that software center has installed v 13.2 Gotham of XBMC. However, the xbmc.org/download page and XBMC forum indicate that there is no 32 bit version of XBMC Gotham 13.2. Has the software center installed the wrong XBMC version?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled XBMC several times to no avail.

Note: I can install 1Channel and it works fine.

Hi, try purging xbmc that you installed by opening a Terminal (Ctrl+ Alt+ T) and enter:

Code:
sudo apt-get purge xbmc

Then go to the officia xbmc website and download the correct .deb package for Zorin:

http://xbmc.org/download/#rcbuilds

Note that the project is being renamed to kodi! :D

Hello again Swarfendor437,

The http://xbmc.org/download/#rcbuilds link has no .deb package to download. Clicking on the Linux link on that page simply takes you to a How To Install XBMC link (which you already supplied as http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Linux). At this link, I followed the directions under 1.1 Ubuntu. Unfortunately, the result is the same. I get a "Script Failed: F.T.V." error.

I followed directions on how to create a log file here http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Log_file/Easy. I am taking the liberty of posting the log and crash file links here:
Your debug xbmc.log: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=303161
Your XBMC crashlog: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=303162

p.s. as per your instructions, I purged XBMC with "sudo apt-get purge xbmc". I also removed $Home/user_name/.xbmc directory.

Hi, I am currently running Zorin Ultimate which comes with xbmc by default and the stable version you need to install is this (I opened Software Center and searched for XBMC and the installed version came back:

xbmc 2:12.3+dfsg1-3ubuntu1

I installed xbmc 2:12.3+dfsg1-3ubuntu1 but the problem did not go away. A few days later, a system reminder popped up saying I had 420MB of updates available to install. I installed these. Now, everthing works just fine. BTW, one of the updates was xbmc Gotham 13.2. Curious though, my laptop is 32 bit and xbmc Gotham 13.2 is 64. Shouldn't that cause problems?
