Hi, Launch the application - the icon will appear in the panel, right-click and 'pin' to panel.

Thank you when I look in the menu I can't find it all that shows is Thunderbird.

When you open Thunderbird it places an icon on the panel - what options do you see when you right-click the icon that appears on the panel?
