having problems dual booting using usb

Im trying to install Zorin 9.1 core onto my hp dv5 2045dx. I am trying to dual boot using a usb but when i try to get the different boot able devices to show using f12 key on the reboot, it only shows the windows 7 os and memory diagnostics. Is there something i am doing wrong?

Hi, I occasionally had this issue with an old Memory stick - it would boot on first boot but on re-boot was not seen. As you have an HP device your one-time boot should be when you press Esc key - does it show up then? ;) Also, does your BIOS support booting from memory stick?
