gufw indicator in AWN

Is there any way to get an indicator for gufw (firewall) placed in the AWN taskbar? I would just like to see it there with an indicator whether it is on of off.
I know I can pin the app to AWN, but that is not quite what I am looking for. I want an active icon that tells me whether my FW is on or off.

Hi, I don't know that there is a way to do this - suggest you place a request in Dev/Brainstorm section for next release/update?
