Hi Everyone,

I installed Zorin OS 9 Lite on an old Packard Bell EasyNote MH 35 laptop. It seems to work fine apart the screen resolution that I cannot change from 640x480. After searching on web it seems a problem related to the SIS 671/771 graphic chip. I tried some suggested solutions but none of them works. What is really very strange is that with liveusb I can choose between 640x480, 800x600 and 1024x768. Can somebody help me? Thanks!

Does the very old thread on different distro help? (same machine as yours!):

Hey these are all for SIS Crads but I have a Nvidia Geforce. I made it to change the resolution by installing the nvidia driver. Only problem with this is that the taskbar doesn't work correctly after start (no time, no volume, etc). But when I change it with the look changer it works!?

I believe it to be a bug with the indicator3 applet - do this and your problems will be sorted ;) :

I see where I (or rather you) have gone wrong - you have hijacked this thread! :P
