Zorin OS6 Wifi Adaptor

Hey all I am new to Linux and am struggling to install my wireless driver. I have downloaded it and put it onto a USB stick and put it on my desktop. I read a forum somewhere about opening a file making sure that some details were correct and then got lost!

Is there a simple way rather than me taking my whole computer downstairs to plug it into the ethernet to see if that helps with a driver?
