HELP...slow browser and video in Zorin LITE

How may I speed up browser and video performance?

1. How do I command Zorin to search for any driver updates including those for the graphics adapter?
2. Is there a "lightweight" browser that would work well on Zorin LITE on an older low-grade machine?

A task manager observation reveals that the CPU is pegged out at 100% use during web page loading operations and YouTube video play
as a troubleshooting clue. Zorin uses between 1 and 10% CPU when sitting idle and about 5-75% when Firefox is open but idle with the
Yahoo! home page displayed. Memory is at about 60-70% consumed during video down-streams.

My hardware is an Asus IDE/PATA motherboard, 40 GB hard drive, an Intel 2.53 GHz Pentium 4 and 512 MB RAM.

Here is a workaround for you - if there is a video you would like to watch you could do this:

copy the url into the media stream setting of VLC:
