Just Bought a Chromebook - Looking to use Zorin!

Hey Everyone,

My name Cody. First, I apologize if this isn't posted in the correct forum and/or if any of my questions are "stupid". I am completely new to linux but am eager to learn with your help. I just bought the new Toshiba Chromebook 2 and was hoping to install either Zorin OS or Linux Mint; however, I am wondering if my new laptop is compatible "out of the box" as they say.

Also, I see many people using Chrubuntu and Crouton methods. I am completely fine with these, but is there a reason why people don't just uninstall Chrome OS and use Linux? Doesn't having two OS's take up more space and slow down your computer?

I think that is all I have for now. Thank you in advance for your time and help responding to a newb :) It is much appreciated.

Hi and welcome to Zorin forum! :D

It is not straightforward - but I guess the same procedure used to get Ubuntu on Chromebooks should also work for Zorin? You will have to let us know!:
