If not already installed install dconf-editor and follow this path Org> Gnome> Desktop> Interface> Cursor-size

You may also want to install 'comix cursors' from synaptic - the downside? Only works in Active Window, not the desktop - I think this is a Gnome 3 DE bug!

The thing I have done for now is work with the "dconf Editor" and the thing that happened was that the only place my now size 50 shows is in my browser.
Nothing else......

I think it has to do something with Graphics and layers and 'hooks' - but I am no scripter - just second guessing here!
