[Solved] How do I switch desktop windows?

I know this should be simple but I have been looking around and trying different keystroke combinations but I have not been succesful. I would like to change my desktop window so I can have applications on different windows without too much clutter. I can see if that if I use the gnome desktop view there is a bottom panel with a window switch, so I assume there is a keystroke combination or some other method to switch desktop windows if I am in Windows7 view. Any help would be appreciated.

Ctrl+ Alt+ Left or Right cursor key.
