(SOLVED) Desktop Icons

Hi Im quite new to Zorin but not to Computers (I have 3 desktops on line two I built myself) anyway my question is how do I remove desktop Icons please ? I am using Cairo Dock so I dont need the desktop default Icons :) , any help appreciated

Hi Stephanie,

you can either right click each file (desktop icon) and delete them (move to rubbish bin/trashcan) one by one, or you can install the "gnome-tweak-tool" and just go t desktop settings and switch off the show desktop icons button which will remove all desktop icons at once.

Install with a terminal command (Ctrl + Alt + t):

sudo apt-get install gnome-tweak-tool

Hi Wolfman when I right click on a drive Icon the remove is greyed out ? .. thank you for answering :)

No as Admin .. but just found Dconf Editor (on line video) going to try it , and will try the teeak tool thank you :)
