Here' the [ Windows ] driver for the keyboard.
Far as I can see....there isn't any linux driver.
You could unzip the tar.gz file and right-click on the driver.exe installer.....
And install via wine....to see what happens.
Doubt that anything happens...far as the keyboard is concerned.
But one never know's...unless they try.
Tried uploading the driver...but to large.
Here's the driver link just in case !!~!! :D :D

Hi Stephanie,

as a last-ditch attempt, you can try typing the following command in the recovery menu:

Code:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade -f

Start in recovery mode and first activate "Network" and then click on "root", then type the above command (write it down on paper first), this is much the same as running "DPKG" but this also has the force command added on the end and will drag down any missing dependencies. It is a longshot but worth a try!. :D

OK thank you Wolfman going to try that after dinner (its cooking now) :D

What a blow - just looked at ZaReason.com - there was a rumour they were going to start shipping desktops and notebooks to the UK.

Now have read this has worked on Windows but no guarantees - USB devices have a memory issue. remove all USB peripherals whilst machine is powered off, switch off the powersupply switch at the back of the computer (if it has one, and remove the power lead - leave for 30 seconds and put everything back together - try putting your keyboard in a different slot and see if there is any difference - is the keyboard USB2.0? Are any of the USB ports showing blue plastic? this is USB 3.0 which are supposed to be backwards compatible but not always. Similarly USB 3 devices are supposed to work on USB 2.0 slots. Have you checked your BIOS settings are set to 'Legacy' and 'Fast' by default?

Hi Swarfendor437 thank you I will try your sugestion now and post back, I have been all through my BIOS and tried a few things without sucsess, strange thing is when booting my system at first post the LEDs light up but when Zorin loads they go out, but if all fails I will have to get my purse out and buy a new Keyboard that I know will light up :D

I hate to tell ya...but their is a big difference !!!! [ A keyboard is a keyboard is a keyboard ]
The Linux Kernel doesn't support all hardware gizmo fuctioning....specially [ Gaming ].....
That's why it is good practice to do detailed research on ones area of interest. [ Linux Friendly Hardware ] [Driver Support ]
I spent a good hour on the net before getting my recent [ Roccat ISKU Gaming Keyboard ]
The only thing my keyboard doesn't do... is wash dishes via Linux !!!!

OK, Point taken - I was looking at Cherry Linux Keyboard as these have a good stamina (long-life) from personal experience but could not find backlit with penguins instead of windows logo!

A distro I had problems running wireless keyboard was a nice little one called DreamLinux - I used a wired keyboard during install, then replaced with the wireless keyboard and it worked! :D

Where are my sunglasses?. :D

I actually bought a new keyboard with large bright yellow keys and I love it, I have only had it a few hours but it is excellent for a dodgy typist like me!. :D

Well it looks like I bought a variant of Stephanie's keyboard just before Christmas + mouse - both £9.99 from that wonderful German Supermarket chain that begins with 'A':
