Cannot seem to find any help online For playing said files on linux, Updating VLC simply did nothing.
zorin os9 on Asus 64bit intel celeron cpu 847 @1.1GHz x2, 1.8gb ram

Vokoscreencorder (in the repos) does support mkv files! The big issue is that websites like vimeo don't support such files. (HEVC = .mkv)
