(SOLVED) wifi streaming/sharing

I have put music files in "public" folder and set it to be shared on local network. I want to stream it to my living room sound system
through my ps3 or smart bluray player. What do I have to do to get it to show up? I used to have an application that linked my computer
to my ps3 through wifi and it worked well (a couple of years ago) but I can't remember what it was. Now I can't even get my computer to show
up on the network. I have openssh server/client installed on my desktop and my laptop but neither sees the other on the network.
What am I missing?

Ok I found it after googling a few sites. It's "ps3 media server" "Media Tomb" also works for streaming from PC to PS3
