Greetings,
Zorin wont boot properly after I install the NVidia drivers. I get the boot menu but after thatm when I select Zorin I end up with a blank screen.
The original drivers had a maximum resolution of 640 480, so wanted to install the Nvidia drivers as to get something a bit better.
I'm trying to use Zorin on an old Clevo M670su laptop.
I am new to Lunix and Zorin. Any help would be appreciated, I've searched a round but cant seem to find any solution.

Hi,
run DPKG per the update guide:
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2247A NETWORK CABLE IS REQUIRED FOR THE ABOVE TO WORK!. What Nvidia drivers did you install ?:
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2490See the part about removing drivers, you can do this in recovery mode and replace the drivers you installed by reading the Nvidia guide.

Hey guys,
Still no luck. Even when I try the recovery mode method and remove the drivers. I still get a blank screen.
I've re installed Zorin Os, tried the news Nvidia drivers, as well as the oldest ( I think that it was something like 311, and 173) but get the same blank screen.
Strangely enough, when I run Zorin OS from the DVD without installing any drivers, I have a desktop resolution of 1024 x 768, compared to 640 x 480 when I install the O.S. I've tried Zorin 64bit, do you think I should reinstall with Zorin 32bit instead?
Laptop is a M670su,
3gb of RAM,
Dual boot with Windows 7
3 x 40gb partitions,
Nvidia m86 8400M G,
integrated wifi, also has onboard Ethernet
Intel dual core T7200 cpu

I can't see how you can have 3 Gb RAM when the spec sheet for your machine is 2 Gb RAM max - also possibly a celeron? I would try 32-bit and if still no luck go with Zorin Lite.

I agree with Swarf on this one. Go with 32 Bit, I always use 32 Bit myself on my 64 Bit PC's, I seem to have less trouble with them!.
