I had Zorin 8 Ult installed on the hdd of my desktop for a while. I really like Zorin. I backed up my whole system before we moved out of state. My Zorin 8 hdd did not survive the move, catastrophic failure. New hdd, dual boot win7 and Zorin 9 Ult now. Question:

Can I restore my Zorin 8 backup files into Zorin 9?

Hi,

if you follow this guide yes!:

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=4848

This is working on the assumption that you already have 3 partitions set up, a swap; root and home.

If you only have swap and root, you will need to copy and paste your home folder contents to an external medium!.

Don't forget that there are hidden files in your /home, press Ctrl + h and you can copy the files like .mozilla and .thunderbird and other hidden files if you wish.

Hope it helps!. :D
