Windows Media Player requires validation in wine

I downloaded Windows Media Player 11, went to home, open downloads, right clicked windows MP, chose open with Wine windows program loader, and up popped a screen that said it must be validated. I clicked OK and it came back with an error that it is not supported on this OS. What can I do to get it to load so I can use it?

I also tried this with earlier versions of Windows Media Player and got the same error.

HiJoe,

did you try installing it using Playonlinux?.

As far as I know, only Windows Media PLayer 10 is supported?:

Just had a look in Synaptic and thought I would have a play - qt4 for wine project may not always be available -

This came up in Firefox after installing q4wine GUI:
