i have been playing around with other ubuntu based linuxs, is there any way to put the zorin desktop on to mint 17
why i ask safe me having to reinstall every thing

Hi,
you could add the Zorin PPA's to Mint but I wouldn't recommend it as it will most likely cause problems with both Mint and Zorin !.

Well the quickest way would be to backup all the wallpapers and themes - the latter might prove problematical (themes)! or just install Cairo-Dock DE (if it is compatible with Mint17) to get something like this:
