I keep trying to post this without much luck. Is there a reason for that? Question is: why am I getting so many updates for Zorin 9 Lite? Seems like every time I boot up there is a 40-60mb file to download and install. Are these viruses or malware of some kind? I'd really appreciate some assistance here. Thanks!

They are not viruses, install the packages, a lot of the time there are constant security updates which you should install!.
