I fiddled with the Settings but found nothing to allow. If I just choose Install I get this:
If I press OK it just disappears and the updates don't happen.
Any data as to how to change the "settings" to allow?

change your "Software Sources Settings Download Location" per the update guide to "Main", if it is already set to that, change it and try updating again:

As far as the "Untrusted" message goes, did you add any further PPA's to your system?, if you did, which ones?.![]()

I did change the sources. No luck. If an OS's inability to allow updates (a human didn't make or authorize the change) isn't a Dev problem. Nothing is. I started working in s/w dev >35 years ago. I'm familiar with what is a dev issue.
I'll try the people you mentioned. Thanks for your effort I appreciate it.

firstly, where did you get the PPA's from?, did you install them yourself?.
You don't need those codecs packages anyway as all the codecs you need can be obtained from the Zorin/Ubuntu mirrors without the need for 3rd party PPA's!.
Try this terminal command (Ctrl + Alt + t) and disable the 3rd party PPA's that are causing your problem (Take out the tick in your software sources list!):
- Code:
sudo apt-get install libav-tools flac faac faad sox ffmpeg2theora libmpeg2-4 uudeview mpeg3-utils mpegdemux liba52-dev mpeg2dec vorbis-tools id3v2 mpg321 mpg123 libflac++6 totem-mozilla icedax lame libmad0 libjpeg-progs ubuntu-restricted-extras gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly gxine libdvdread4 totem-mozilla icedax tagtool easytag id3tool lame nautilus-script-audio-convert libmad0 mpg321 libavcodec-extra gstreamer1.0-fluendo-mp3 gstreamer1.0-gnonlin gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad-multiverse gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad gstreamer1.0-plugins-ugly totem-plugins-extra gstreamer-tools ttf-mscorefonts-installer
That should keep you going without the need for 3rd party PPA's, some of the packages may well be installed, they will be ignored by the installer process!.
Are you running a 32Bit system?.

I removed the package "hal" from the meta command list as I didn't notice it was there and it is no longer supported by Ubuntu and that is why it knocked you back, sorry!.
PPA = Personal Package Archive

Been a while since I used it - last time was in Zorin 5 or 6 I believe - by that I mean when I used it.![]()
