I'm trying to setup Zorin to backup two desktops, but first need to get a AHA 2940 SCSI adapter working.

How do I get the OS to see the SCSI card?

Thanks,
Gary

Hi Gary,

what are the Plug and Play settings like in BIOS?, are they set to "On" (Enable) or "Off" (Disable)?. :D

It might also be a bug?:

Hi, Sadly, it appears to be unsupported in GNU/Linux in general:

Don't blame GNU/Linux - blame the hardware manufacturers for not providing a driver! ;)

Thanks, it looks like I'll have to change my plans a bit. If I don't find a driver for Linux I'll put together a windows box to run the backups.

Thanks again.

Hi Gary,

I found this (a bit old) and it points towards kernel problems!, do you have an Intel mainboard/motherboard?:

Hi Wolfman, couple of interesting issues in that guys bug report:

pae kernel!

nvidia non-free drivers

;)

11.04 was never a very good release - Maverick was a far superior release at the time - that said, we need to remember that putting an old kernel on a rig will make it susceptible to ...:
