Not Saving Pointer Settings on Reboot

I have downloaded and installed Zorin 9 Lite onto a relatives notebook PC to replace Windows XP.

They know pretty much close to nothing about PCs and are a bit of a technophobe. On reading I seen numerous mentions of how easy Zorin is to use to thought I would try this.

Easy is not the word I would ever use to describe my frustrations on trying to set this OS up. But anyway.

One major problem I am having is the touchpad is so sensitive when using this OS. By sensitive it will just randomly think you have left clicked whenever it wants.

I thus want to keep the touchpad on, but disable the tap to click.

I have reasearched how to do this and found to go to "Pointer Settings" Option And unticked this option. This works great and the tap to click no longr works and everything is perfect.

This is however, until I reboot the PC. It just turns it back on again. However on looking at the settings it is still ticked. What I need to do is untick it and then retick it and as soon as I do, it disables the tap to click again. Until I reboot. And rinse repeat.

Can you please offer an update patch for the operating system to fix the issue where Pointer Settings is forgetting its settings on reboot as it will be a life saver for me.

If not, and I know this is cheaky to ask, but does anyone know of a linux operating system that is light to work on old hardware but actually works better on disabling this setting.
