Symbols: On my windows maching I can hold the Alt key and 167 and I get the little degree circle. If I hold down the Alt key using Zorin and hit 1 it takes me to a different tab.

How does one add the little circle at the top to rep a temp?

Hi,

I don't understand this: "hold the Alt key and 167"?. :D

I have to do this at work on a semi regular basis. Your Alt Code for the degree sign is incomplete:

Alt+ 0167 ;) :D

My fault (your mistake! :D )

Try:

Alt+ 0176

How about when using Facebook?

Open a document in LibreOffice - create your symbol then copy and paste into Facebook page you are writing to. ;)

It is what I do on here for foreign characters. :D

That seems to defeat the term "shortcut".

Sometimes it depends on whether the browser or website allows such symbols via shortcuts - but I just don't know!

I literally didn't know how to do this till right now, always time to learn something new.

Ok so you press "ctrl+shift+u" there should be an underlinded u that appears Then you type the unicode code for it so for the degree symbol it is 1d52 then you press space to replace the unicode string with the unicode character.

Hope this helps!
